Weekly Bulletin OUR LADY OF TAHOE PARISH MISSION STATEMENT As disciples of Jesus Christ, and in the name of Mary, Our Lady of Tahoe Catholic Community welcomes and embraces all those who come to us. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, through worship, the sacraments and loving service, we provide for one another’s spiritual and material needs. In being so nourished we reach out in faith to serve the larger community. DEC 13, 2009 THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT READINGS for Dec. 20th—FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT SECOND COLLECTION—12/12 & 12/13 Retirement for Religious PREVIOUS WEEK'S COLLECTION: DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS: Tuesday, Dec. 22nd at 9:00AM. All are welcome to come and help decorate our church for Christmas. Men are needed to put up the 9 foot tree and wreath decorating around the front doors. IMPORTANT NOTICE: In an effort to improve communications with our parishioners, we are initiating a Lady of Tahoe newsletter. This letter will contain information about upcoming events and parish news. The letter will be sent via Internet and email. Please enter your name and email address on the list at the back of the church. Visitors are also invited to receive this newsletter, so we encourage them to sign up . This list is for OLT use only and will not be shared. ALTAR CARE: Volunteers are needed for Altar Care in 2010. Please use the sign-up sheet in the back of the church. Thank you for your time and effort . Outreach Share Tree: If you would like the opportunity to make Christmas a special and blessed day for the children of our Outreach Families please take an ornament from the tree. The ornament will identify the age and sex of the child you wish to choose. We suggest a gift of $15.00 to . Please attach the ornament to your wrapped gift so we can identify the child and place your gift under the tree. THE DEADLINE FOR RETURNING YOUR GIFT IS DEC. 13th AFTER THE 10:00 MASS. CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS: In memory of a loved one, we are asking for cash donations to decorate our altar with poinsettias. Please place your donations in the envelopes provided in the pews. Fill out the front of the envelope and place it in the collection basket. We will purchase 10” and 6” potted plants. Any donations we may receive over the cost of the poinsettias will stay in the flower fund for flowers for the coming year. RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS: Religious face rising costs. Data submitted to the National Religious Retirement Office reveals that the average annual cost for women and men religious age 70 and over has more than doubled since 1989. Current statistics put this figure at $35,077 per person annually, with skilled care reaching nearly $55,000. Your donation to the Retirement Fund for Religious provides critical support to religious institutes in meeting the escalating costs of elder care.
